Our facilities

At Oak House Nursery, we are very lucky to be able to share all the wonderful facilities of St Pius X Prep School. Situated in beautiful grounds, our nursery unit operates independently, yet is very much a part of the St Pius family atmosphere.

Our light, spacious classrooms are well equipped with a variety of learning resources, to create a stimulating environment for your child. There is a soft-play outdoor area, where the children can explore a variety of natural resources, as well as create on a larger scale. We provide equipment such as climbing frames, bikes and scooters to aid physical development. The children learn to move with confidence, imagination and safety, with an awareness of space, themselves and others.

Once a week the pre-school children join in the collective worship sessions with the older children, teaching them the discipline boundaries for later life.

Being on a school site, we benefit from having use of many of the school's facilities such as the large hall/gymnasium, library, interactive whiteboards, as well as a brand new music suite. The children also have several specialist teachers on hand. The school kitchens cook all food on the premises, and our pre-school children love their lunch-times in the 'big school'.

When your child is ready to start in Reception, you will find the transition is smooth, having had such a strong foundation in Oak House Nursery, and being familiar with the school and its facilities. Check out our Virtual Tour section to get a real feel for our fabulous surroundings.
