Lucy, from Year 4, took park in her first Open Water Biathle last week in the Lake District.   For those of you not in the know a Biathle is a continuous run-swim-run competition open to competitors of all ages from seven to seventy! The competition consists of a pack start followed by a run, a swim before a final run to the finish line.

Lucy had to run 400m and then took to the water for a 50m swim followed by another 400m run. She competed against girls in the 9—10-year-old age group despite only being 8 years old and finished an incredible 2nd.

Lucy said, ‘It was quite a cold day and the water was even colder. It was fun but it wasn’t easy, but my trainer told me to remember that if it was easy everyone would do it.’     Well done Lucy!!!!
