The children from years 5 and 6 enjoyed a morning of Chinese culture from The Confucius Institute based at UCLAN.
The children tried out their Tai Chi skills together with some traditional Chinese Folk Dancing moves, the animal postures and stances were amazing – even Mrs Dasu had a go!
The groups moved on to a language session and learned how to count to ten in Chinese; took part in number games; began to identify animals and talk about what animals they liked.
After this we tried some brush painting and drew an orchid in the traditional Chinese style using the correct drawing equipment.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning and valued the opportunity to take part a different cultural experience.
