STEM Challenge Winners

St Pius x Year 5 pupils competed in the Westholme STEM  Challenge Competition, Tuesday 5th June 2018. Miss Buckley took Siva, Lucy, Ethan and Taran to the four activity event where they were tested in chemistry, biology, bridge building and computing.

An extra Maths challenge was set by Westholme’s Senior School which had to be completed as an extension activity throughout the day.

The day was hard work requiring analytical skills, higher order thinking and a sustained level of concentration.

We are very happy to announce that St. Pius competed against 11 other schools including Ashbridge and Westholme and came 1st in chemistry, 1st in biology, and 2nd in computing. When we thought things couldn’t get any better it was announced that St Pius had also won the Maths Challenge!

St Pius X are the 2018 Westholme STEM Challenge overall winners with outstanding results across the board.

An excellent result Year 5 you were brilliant!
